jasmine star & the robinette family

Last night I had the awesome opportunity to hear from the talented California photographer, Jasmine Star:
Ms. Star came allllll the way from California to "Pure" Michigan (let's be honest - those ads make me melt inside. I love Michigan). The meeting was a monthly meeting for MTPPA - a Pro-Photographers association and our venue was the University Club on the campus of Michigan State University (Go green!). Yesterday, I made the trek from Grand Rapids and my dear friend and photographer, Abby from VeldmanPhoto drove from Detroit to meet up and attend the evening together. (Thanks for inviting me, Abby!)

Despite my busy schedule filled with wedding planning and photo editing and maintaining a part-time job .... I decided to make the time to go to Michigan State yesterday evening to hear from Jasmine. AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT. (Ask my fiance... I talked his ear off on the phone the whole way back to GR ;)) The words she shared with us were inspiring and motivational. If I could obtain half of what Jasmine has accomplished in 3 years, I would be so thrilled. Last night marked another important step in creating the JWP brand. Watch out world, JWP is feeling inspired...

And with that inspiration... comes IMAGES! Of course :) So without further ado, let me introduce to you, the Robinette family! If you are familiar with the Grand Rapids area, and you love cider and donuts and apple orchards and all things autumn, you also might be familiar with the Robinette name... but I'll let you make that connection ;)

My main objective for the session was to capture the precious little children, Sarah & Henry:
I LOVE feet shots... especially if they are little kid feet. LOOK HOW ADORABLE:

I was also really loving the apple crates that served as props & backdrops:
Sarah, you are a very beautiful girl!
And Henry - you are so handsome!

This photo warms my heart:
Yes, we played in a corn maze for a good little while:

One of my favorites to finish:
Yay! I had a great evening running around the family farm! Thank-you so much for letting me capture your family, Sharon & Bill - I hope you enjoyed your preview!
