Last week, I had the chance to spend some more time with the Genuise family. It's been fun capturing their life the past seven months as a family of four ... and celebrating their newest addition, Megan! Well this time - it was Alex's turn in front of the camera! (Ok, it was Megan's turn again, too - but her preview is coming tomorrow!) Alex recently turned three and of course we needed to capture this big milestone! It was so fun hanging out with him and chasing him around the yard and snapping some handsome portraits for his mom, of course! Have I mentioned lately that I love my job? Seriously.

kendra & ryan {married}

I was so excited to start off the wedding season this past Saturday... And I could NOT have picked a better wedding to start with!

It was a cold, rainy May day... but that did not get spirits down. There was a sense of excitement and love the entire day. You knew all the guests were so happy for the newlyweds who were finally saying "I do" after seven (right??) years of dating! Kendra was a gorgeous, happy bride, Ryan was a handsome, great groom and the bridal party was so much fun - they kept me laughing all day! One of the highlights of the day was their pastor's wedding sermon. Kendra & Ryan have a long history with the pastor and it was fun to hear him recount stories and pass along trinkets from their past to take with them into their marriage. All the elements of the ceremony were really personal to the two of them... It was BEAUTIFUL!

Kendra & Ryan tied the knot at Cornerstone Church in Caledonia and then celebrated the nuptials at The Bluff in Grand Rapids. How about a little preview of the day?

No, Kendra isn't wiping off her kiss... she just isn't used to lipstick... and it was a REALLY good First Kiss. She was just doing Ryan a favor :)

We had about 12.4 seconds of blue sky that day... and it was perfectly timed for when we were outside for a few portraits! Yesss.

Just about as I was wrapping up for the evening, Party in the U.S.A. came on. For anyone who knows me... you know how much I love this song. Well guess what? Kendra loves it, too... and her, Kaitlyn, Hannah and Amy have a dance to it. YES.

Kendra and Ryan... it was such a joy to share in your wedding day celebration with the two of you. I'm so excited for your marriage and the newlywed journey you have begun. Many blessings for the two of you!! (Oh, Kendra - we totally need to talk coupons when you get back from your honeymoon! I LOVE COUPONS TOO!!) ... and.... BUDDY CHECK! ;)
