heather & dan {married!} - part one

I am very excited to share these next two posts with you! Last weekend, I spent a few days in Lake Geneva, WI to celebrate the nuptials of Heather & Dan. The full wedding post will come tomorrow, but I just had so many fun details to share, I had to give you a preview from the rehearsal evening and a taste of what's to come!

Recognize this dashing couple? ;)

Heather's grandparents own property on Lake Geneva and her and her family have spent every summer there since she was a baby! It was also on that lake that Dan proposed to Heather last summer. Needless to say, the Lake holds a special place in their lives and I was so honored to document them and their families in such a special location!

Dan spent a lot of his life in Bolivia, where his parents are missionaries. Herego, the rehearsal dinner was a Bolivian theme! So yummy!
Dan's dad opened up the microphone for anyone to share a story about the couple. It was so cool to be a "fly on the wall" in this situation and hear some funny and serious stories about Heather & Dan. I loved getting to know more about them through their loved ones!

And here are the sweet newlyweds-to-be soaking in the memories and love shared by family and friends and thanking everyone who brought them to be who they are today. There were a lot of joyful tears shed Friday evening and into Saturday... but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see their beautiful wedding.

the webber family! {farmington, mi}

This session features one of my favorite families. And yes, I'm allowed to say that because... they are MY family! :)

Dave, is my oldest brother. Almost four years ago he married Laura - providing me with another sister which I never had growing up! One and a half years later, sweet little Boaz entered the world. For you avid blog-stalkers of mine, you may recognize Bo from his Mr. February shoot & debut, from one of his visits to Grand Rapids or from his first haircut! Boaz, along with all my little nieces and nephews has provided my life with so much joy. His gentle and fun spirit is a delight to be around. And fortunately, Laura is a great blogger and keeps me well-updated on Bo's life when I'm not around! :)

Dave, Laura, and Bo... thanks for letting me capture some images for you. Jonathan and I had so much fun hanging out in your neck of the woods with you ;) Enjoy the preview...
The left image is what happens when Dave tells Boey to pose. The right image is what happens when he listens to his Aunt Jenn ;)
Dave is kind of known for his flip-flops. He will literally wear them until the snow is an inch deep and goes past the bottom of the flip-flop. Boaz, on the otherhand... doesn't really enjoy the idea of flip-flops and chooses to go against the Webber trend ;)
Laura recently put together a beautiful "motherhood" necklace full of charms representing different aspects of family and motherhood... including a charm for Boaz, of course!

amy & joey {married}

This past weekend, I had the joy of watching Amy & Joey tie the knot in Brighton, MI! The temperature was cool, the clouds were looming and thunderstorms were in the vicinity, but that didn't get anyones' spirits down. Plus, any photographer knows that a clouded sky can be your best friend for portraits ;)

I was able to spend some time with Joey and the guys for a bit before I saw Amy. He was a handsome groom - and you could definitely sense he was eagerly anticipating seeing his bride! If I had to guess, I would say he was a little nervous for the big day, but he kept his composure well! From the moment I saw Amy step out of the limousine, I knew the day was going to be perfect! Amy was a beaming bride - she was ready to marry her best friend! The beautiful St. George Evangelical Lutheran Church was filled to the brim with family and friends all excited to witness their union.

The reception was held at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth, MI - one of my favorite venues! Guests were greeted by strolling Italian musicians as they drank their cocktails and found their seats. The ShutterBooth company provided photobooth fun, and everyone had a great time celebrating the newlyweds. Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of this special day, Amy & Joey! Here is a little preview of the day...
FAVORITE! :)

Both the maid of honor & best man speeches were top notch. Great job, siblings ;)
I'm becoming pretty fond of all these ladies... ;)
